Homemaker Services (since April 2001)

Homemaker Services is a program that provides support and training to families in Genesee County who are at risk of losing their children to the foster care system due to environmental neglect. Trained paraprofessionals work with the families in the family home to resolve the issues that caused the referral from Protective Services. Staff are in the home minimally one hour per week, and the duration of the case can be up to six months. Services to families involved in the Homemaker Services program include:

Service Population: Families in Genesee County referred by the Family Independence Agency. These include referrals from Protective Services Workers and Foster Care Workers.
