Juvenile Justice Diversion And Reintegration Alternatives(JJDRA) (since 1994)

JJDRA is a community-based program for adolescents who have been adjudicated through the court system because of their delinquent behaviors. The program provides an alternative to out-of-home placement or provides services to reintegrate a youth who is returning to the community from short or long-term residential placements. Each of the youth and his/her family are provided with a comprehensive and supportive plan of service, uniquely designed and tailored to their individual needs. Each youth is placed on a five-level system which begins with intensive face-to-face contact of three times a day, diminishing to a once-a-day contact. Services are delivered to clients in the client's home and community to include all family member's, five to ten hours per week. The time limit for case monitoring is between six months to one year. Services to clients involved in the JJDRA program include:

Service Population: Formally known as the Nokomis Challenge Program, the JJDRA program serves delinquent male and female youth, ages 13-18, who have completed a short-term intensive state-run residential program, who are exiting from a longer-term detention program or who are referred for program services. Services are provided to youth from Genesee and surrounding counties.
