Wraparound Services (since 1996)

Ennis Center is the lead agency in facilitating Wraparound Services in Genesee County. Wraparound Services are based on the philosophy that a family does not fail, the system fails. The program design is a strength-based focus on the individual child's and family's needs. A Community Team is developed and is comprised of personnel from Ennis Center, Genesee County Community Mental Health, Family Independence Agency, Probate Court, Strong Families/Safe Children and the Public School District or other family advocates necessitated by the family's need. Wraparound Services are unconditional in that the team of professionals agrees not to reject the child or the child's family once accepted as appropriate for this service, reflecting the philosophy of "never giving up." Genesee County Community Mental Health administers the contract for Wraparound Services. Wraparound Services are provided to families with multiple needs with the goal of maintaining the families in their family unit. Services to the children and families involved in Wraparound Services include:

Service Population: Families which are involved with more than one system and wherein the child's current arrangement is collapsing - the range of services available have been exhausted and it is clear that none of the past services have worked. Furthermore, there is a danger of the child being removed from his/her family, being placed in a more restrictive setting, or requiring extensive services for family reintegration.
